Insulation foam found inside fridges and freezers must be removed to prevent the release of hazardous chemicals known as Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS).

Incorrectly disposed of fridges and freezers pose a significant hazard to children, animals and the environment

ODS include CFCs (chlorofluorocarbons) and HCFCs (hydrochlorofluorocarbons) that if released into the environment will destroy the ozone in the atmosphere.
